If you love chocolate and you love dessert drinks than this chocolate martini is for you! This is a sweet, thick, delicious cocktail.

I, personally, love dessert drinks. Like this chocolate strawberry martini, the mudslide, eggnog martini or a chocolate peppermint martini. Dessert drinks are thick, rich, and oh so yummy.

When to Make a Chocolate Martini

Chocolate martinis are great for after dinner dessert drinks. In fact, you really don’t need any actual dessert when you have this cocktail. However, if you want to be extra indulgent, you could always try these chocolate peppermint cookies.

The fact is, chocolate is good for any occasion. This drink is a great year round but especially during the holidays. It’s a decadent cocktail perfect for special occasions. If you want an easy, fun dessert for celebrations they are also an excellent option.

This definitely isn’t a cocktail for those watching your calories. If you’re looking to have a less heavy drink, try this vodka soda.

    Flavor

As you can probably guess, this cocktail is full of chocolatey flavor. They are sweet, creamy and flavorful. This drink is thick and filling. And, of course, is full of a robust chocolate flavor. Basically, imagine chocolate milk with a little of bang of liquor.

    What is it made of?

You may think with a drink so decadent that it would have a lot of ingredients and be difficult to make. However, this cocktail can be thrown together with just three simple ingredients! You need:

    Bailey’s

    Godiva chocolate Liqueur

    Vodka

You may wonder what the difference between creme de cacao and chocolate liqueur is. Chocolate liqueur is creamier and sweeter than creme de cacao. Using chocolate liqueur and Bailey’s which is also a creamy liquor create the thick, decadent texture and flavor for this cocktail.

Potential substitutions: I really love to use Godiva as my chocolate liqueur. However, there are other great brands of chocolate liqueur. For example, you could use Patron XO chocolate liqueur or whatever your favorite brand is.

    Instructions

    Step 1

Before you get started mixing your drink, you want to place your martini glass in the freezer.

    Step 2

    Place ice in your shaker.

    Step 3

Get your vodka, Godiva, and Bailey’s. Pour each into your shaker.

    Step 4

Shake your ingredients in your shaker until the shaker is completely cold to touch.

    Step 5

Remove your martini glass from the freezer.

    Step 6 (Optional)

Place chocolate syrup on a saucer or plate. Place your martini glass rim first on to the chocolate saucer to get chocolate coated on the rim. Next, take your chocolate syrup and squirt it into your martini glass around the inside.

    Step 7

Pour you’re shaken ingredients through a Hawthorne strainer into your martini glass. If you would like a little extra garnish, you can grate some chocolate on top of the drink as well.
