There are few flavor combinations that are just absolutely classic. And chocolate and strawberries is one of them. If you love this flavor combination, then you have to try this chocolate strawberry martini.
Martinis are one of my absolute favorite cocktails. You really can it make just about any flavor of them you can think up. You can make a chocolate martini, a Lemon drop Martini, a strawberry lemon drop martini and even a chocolate peppermint martini.
What is a chocolate strawberry martini?
Chocolate strawberry martinis are just as rich and decadent is they sound. If you’ve ever eaten chocolate covered strawberries then you know how delicious the sweet fruity strawberry flavor combined with a rich creamy chocolate can be. And this drink is all that packed in to a martini glass.
This cocktail is perfect for all occasions especially as a dessert drink. They are great for date nights, Valentine’s Day, or any other special celebration. Not only do they taste great, they are also extremely festive looking with their pink color and chocolate rim. This makes them perfect to be a centerpiece at any get-together or celebration.
And, if you don’t want a whole martini, whip up the chocolate covered strawberry shot instead.
Ingredients
You might think by looking at this cocktail that it would be difficult to make. Thankfully, that is far from the case.
These drinks only take four ingredients (six if you include the garnishes). So they are actually super easy to make. You can toss them together with all your ingredients and just a few minutes.
Instructions
Step 1
Carefully place your martini glass in the freezer to chill.
Step 2
You need to fill a shaker with ice.
Step 3
Place your strawberries and simple syrup in your shaker and muddle them together. You want to make sure that you get them as pureed as possible. If you leave big chunks of strawberry, they will end up in your drink.
Optional: if you don’t want to muddle strawberries, you can always use strawberry flavored vodka instead. You would just add this straight to the simple syrup and then go to step four.
Note: You can also use a chocolate simple syrup for extra chocolate flavor.
Step 4
Add in your vodka and white creme de cacao. Shake in your shaker until the whole shaker frosts over.
Step 5
Remove your martini glass from the freezer. Add just a touch of vermouth and swirl in the glass then toss the vermouth out.
Step 6 (optional garnish)
Take your chocolate syrup and swirl inside the glass. Additionally add chocolate syrup to a plate or saucer and place your martini glass rim down in the chocolate syrup so that it covers the rim.
Step 7
Pour your drink mix from the shaker through a Hawthorne strainer into your martini glass. If desired, add an additional garnish of a sliced strawberry on the rim of the glass.
