What is a Strawberry Shortcake Martini?

A strawberry shortcake martini is a combination of tequila Rose, whipped cream vodka and Bailey’s Irish cream. The resulting cocktail is a very light pink color and tastes like a sweet and creamy strawberry shortcake with a slight bite of vodka as it goes down.

Whipped cream vodka is a type of flavored vodka. It has a sweet and creamy flavor with a hint of vanilla.

Bailey’s Irish cream is a type of liqueur. It is made of cream, sugar and Irish whiskey. It has a sweet creamy flavor with hints of vanilla and a little cocoa.

Tequila Rose is like a strawberry tequila version of Irish whiskey. It Is sweet, creamy and full of strawberry flavor. It is also a pretty bright pink color.

If you’re not looking for a whole martini, then try out this strawberry shortcake shot.

    When to Make This Drink:

This sweet and lightly pink dessert martini is perfect to serve up at times like:

    • date night
    • anniversaries
    • birthday parties
    • Valentine’s Day

    Variations:

There are quite a few ways to change this drink up. Try out a few of your favorite below:

    • Add in some strawberry simple syrup. Make your own strawberry simple syrup, or buy some. And add a little bit to this drink to really sweeten up that strawberry flavor.
    • Use a flavored Bailey’s. Instead of using original Baileys use Bailey’s strawberry to ramp up the sweet strawberry flavor.
    • Use vanilla vodka. Instead of whipped cream vodka, you can use vanilla vodka which has a very similar flavor.
    • Use cake vodka. Substitute the whipped cream vodka for cake vodka to really double down on that cake flavor.
    • Use real strawberries. Make a strawberry puree by muddling some fresh strawberries with a little simple syrup and shaking that up with your other ingredients.
    • Add a strawberry garnish. Kick up some pretty red color in this drink by slicing a strawberry and adding it to the rim of the glass.
    • Substitute the tequila Rose. Use a strawberry schnapps instead of tequila Rose to still get a pink color and strawberry flavor.

Some similar dessert themed martinis are the snickerdoodle martini, banana cream martini and the birthday cake martini.
